Fitness Cafe – What to Eat When You Visit a Cafe

The fitness cafe concept has been around for a few years, but it is only now that it has really become a successful business that many people are waking up to the benefits of working out in there as opposed to just sitting at home watching TV. However, even if you do use the equipment at a fitness cafe, the whole idea can be a bit confusing to someone new. For example, are you supposed to buy your protein powder and supplements from the cafe or do you go to a house and stock up yourself? Well, in this article we will try to explain the whole fitness cafe concept and give you some pointers on what to look for when it comes to buying items.

If you’re looking for a good place to buy protein, then you will not have too much trouble finding one. The biggest brands such as Yoplait, Muscle Milk and Whey Protein actually stock themselves. They each have a few different types of shakes that they offer, all of which are reasonably priced at under $10 each. They also have a variety of healthy bars such as the original Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar and banana split, which although not the most popular may still be a good choice for some people. There are also a few premium items such as the Pro-Health Low Carb Bar and the Pro-Health Original Bar that can be found from a few of the larger fitness stores.

But are these enough? Actually, the majority of fitness trainers claim that the more you have, the better it is for your body – so you really need to have as much protein and vitamins as possible. So it seems that the first thing that you should look for is a decent selection of products from the fitness stores. There are several different brands such as Banyan Health Foods (also stocks some protein bars), Reebok, fitness master, Usana, Lumatri and Target. All these companies manufacture some sort of high quality protein supplement, however, it is often the case that the cheaper brands are simply not as effective as the more expensive ones.

The best of the lot are the Reebok and Usana protein bars. The Usana offers peanut butter on their peanut butter and strawberry bars, whilst the Banyan Health Foods offers orange cream protein on their bars. If you were looking for a delicious after dinner snack, you would probably want to consider either of these brands – and if you do, then add some frozen fruit, such as pineapple or an orange, for a tasty treat.

The problem lies with the Reebok bars though. Whilst there are a variety of different banana protein bars from which to choose, the flavour seems to be a little dull. And the orange cream flavour doesn’t taste very pleasant either. If you’re looking for a snack that tastes great but provides all the protein you need, these aren’t the bars for you.

Finally, when looking for a great after dinner snack, it’s the little things that can really make a difference. A fantastic choice would be passion mango and yogurt, which are not only healthy but extremely sweet too. And don’t forget to keep your drinks around for a few extra minutes – nothing beats a glass of water to quench those thirsts! You’ll be surprised just how easy it can be to pick up some healthy habits, especially once you start to taste the fruits of your labour.
